Letter from Principal Ludwig

Sarah ludwig

Dear Families and Students,

We're excited to welcome students back on Wednesday, August 20th! This will be a half day—school starts at 7:25 AM and ends at 10:35 AM. Doors open at 7:05 AM, and students may not be dropped off before 7:05 AM.

Morning Drop-Off:
Please form two lines after the crosswalk. Our drop-off zone at the Gym Doors allows for six cars at a time. Please monitor your speed limit in the parking lot.

Afternoon Pick-Up (2:26 PM):
Follow the same routine as drop-off. We begin lining up at 2:20. Your child will be assigned a pickup number—please keep it private and only share it with authorized pick-up persons.

Transportation changes?
Please notify both the teacher and office by 1:45 PM (full day) or by 9:45 on a 1⁄2 day—either send a note with your child or call us.

🎉 Open House:
Join us Tuesday, August 19th from 5:30–7:00 PM. We will start with a brief meeting in the gym followed by meeting the teachers, and having dinner in the cafeteria.

📍 First Day Morning Locations:
          ●  Y5–2nd grade: Report to the cafeteria
          ●  3rd–5th grade: Report to the gym

As we gather once again as a school community, I want to take a moment to remind us all of the positive behavior supports that will guide us this year: Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe, and Be Kind.

Be Respectful: Respect is essential in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Let’s treat each other with courtesy, listen with open minds, and honor the diverse perspectives and experiences that each person brings to our school community.

Be Responsible: This year, let's take pride in being accountable for our actions, whether it's in the classroom, on the playground, or at home. Every choice we make matters, and we have the power to shape a positive and productive environment for everyone.

Be Safe: Setting clear and effective safety criteria for Hunt helps protect students, staff, and visitors, and creates a secure learning environment. Drills are conducted regularly throughout the school year.

Be Kind: Our school is a place where everyone belongs, no matter where we come from or what makes us unique. This year, let’s commit to embracing diversity, making new friends, and supporting each other in ways that celebrate our differences.

On behalf of the Hunt Elementary Staff, we look forward to educating your child/children.
If you have any questions or concerns about school, please call: (517) 841-2610.

Wishing you all a fantastic start to the school year! Let’s make it great! Go Vikings!
